Question: I hired the wrong person; what should I do now?
02:00 Jeff: When evaluating an employee, it comes down to two things:
1. Are they a value fit?
2. Is there a capacity gap?
When you are starting to hire people, if you don’t have a process about whether or not they are a value fit, then you’ll end up with people in the organization that doesn’t really need to be there.
- Can they do what I want them to do?
- Do they have the potential to do what I want them to do?
Things to ask yourself
- How well have you given instructions?
- How well-documented are your processes?
