There are three exercises to complete before coming to the planning session. They will help set the context and prepare you to create a more effective plan.
Exercise 1: The Gameplan
Yes, it used to be the 90-day game plan, but now that we are working in trimesters, not quarters, the actual time frame is something like 118 days. So we dropped the 90. Now it’s a Gameplan.
The objective is to reflect with your team on the last two horizons, look at what you did well and what didn’t go well, and come up with some objectives for the next year.

Exercise 2: Complete the OMA
The objective is to measure how your business machine building is progressing. You will want to compare this to the last summit’s plan.
Exercise 3: Leaders Intent
Review your leader’s intent and ask whether it is the same or whether it has changed.
The objective is to help set the context for planning.
